It is highly relevant for Guanajuato and Mexico-based teams working with large datasets, artificial intelligence, simulation, optimization, advanced analytics or applied research that needs CPU/GPU capacity. It can help turn technically ambitious projects into documented collaborations with CIMAT infrastructure.
Who should look at it
Mexican students, professors, researchers, public institutions, professionals, companies, associations and organizations with projects that require significant computational processing and can show research, social, regional or productive-sector value.
Application details
Access to CIMAT's supercomputing laboratory infrastructure for projects that require high computational resources, including CPU and GPU capacity.
The call gives priority to research and application projects that require artificial intelligence, large-scale processing or high-performance computing to address national or regional problems.
Mexican students, professors and researchers from educational or research institutions; members of Mexican public institutions; and Mexican professionals, entrepreneurs, companies, organizations, institutions or associations.
Project description of up to 8 pages with introduction, objectives, methodology, expected results, relationship with national problems or expected impact, and justification of the need for supercomputing resources. Group applications must include CVs in a single PDF.
For private institutions, the call requires participation of a CIMAT technician, researcher or student, and the preparation of the project document that will be published in the event memory book.
Applications close July 13, 2026 at 24:00 Mexico City time, or earlier if capacity is reached. Results are scheduled for July 20, 2026. Approved projects can last up to 5 months.
Accepted projects must submit a 2 to 4 page document by December 31, 2026 describing the project and results, using the format provided after acceptance.
CIMAT offers a free introductory supercomputing course for approved projects. Questions can be sent to supercomputo@cimat.mx.
