Grant funding and leadership development for eligible US nonprofitsWhy it matters
It can be useful for Mexican diaspora, binational and US-based nonprofit organizations in the network that already operate as IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) organizations and work on housing stability, workforce development, entrepreneurship or financial resilience in eligible Bank of America markets.
Who should look at it
Established US 501(c)(3) nonprofits with IRS recognition, at least two filed fiscal years, financially sound operations, a three-year impact plan, eligible market presence, and senior/emerging leaders who can participate in the two-year leadership program.
Application details
The official Bank of America page says the 2026 Neighborhood Builders application is open from June 1 to July 1, 2026.
Awards range from USD 100,000 to USD 400,000, paid over two years. The total grant amount cannot exceed 10% of the organization's most recent annual revenue.
Selected organizations participate in a two-year leadership development program and connect with a nationwide network of established nonprofit organizations and leaders.
Applicants must be recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofits by the IRS, have filed taxes with the IRS for each of the last two fiscal years, be financially sound, serve communities in eligible Bank of America markets, and have at least a three-year plan to advance mission impact.
The Executive Director, President or CEO and the designated Emerging Leader must each have been at the organization for at least two years in role and must be able to participate in the leadership training.
2026 awardees must align with stable housing or income creation. Bank of America defines these as affordable housing, long-term rental housing, home ownership opportunities, workforce development, entrepreneurship and financial resilience.
Organizations that received Bank of America Neighborhood Builders or Champions program grant funding on or after October 2019 are not eligible.
This is not a broad global NGO grant. It is mainly relevant for US-based 501(c)(3) nonprofits operating in eligible Bank of America markets.
Submitted from an Opportunities for Youth social media post and verified against Bank of America's official 2026 Neighborhood Builders eligibility criteria and nonprofit grant funding pages.
